Pickleball for AdultsPickleball is here in Woodbury! This sport has been described as a  that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong, it is fun and energizing, haven’t heard of it? Heard of it but don’t know how to play? That’s ok, we will have an instructor so come and find out what pickleball is all about.
 
2:00 PM - 5:00 PM    PRIVATE VIOLIN and VIOLA LESSONS - PRIVATE VIOLIN and VIOLA LESSONS - Spring 2019
The student is responsible for renting or buying his or her own instrument. The instructor may require one or more music books be purchased prior to the start of lessons. Classical method of violin playing is taught, though these techniques can be applied to all styles of violin playing including jazz, country and Irish fiddle. Lisa Laquidara is a professional violinist and teacher. She received her Bachelor of Music in violin performance from the Hartt School of Music and performs in several orchestras throughout Connecticut. She has taught at the Naugatuck Valley Community College, Westover School and St. Bridget School, and is currently the violin and viola teacher at the Taft School in Watertown.

Meet our NEW Instructor!Kim Johnson is originally from Durban, South Africa.  She took her first yoga class in February 2016 at The OM Center, not knowing what to expect or what yoga really was, she remembers feeling anxious and nervous.  The teachers at OM were warm, kind and reassuring, making her feel welcome and at ease.  Going back every week, it didn't take long until she connected to her breath and made that body, mind, spirit connection.  Stepping out of her comfort zone has softened her anxieties and helped her feel centered and grounded, bringing peace and happiness within. In June 2017 Kim graduated from the 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training under the tutelage of Jessica Proulx at The OM Center. Filled with gratitude for her supportive community, Kim teaches from an open heart and the confidence yoga has gifted her.Kim follows an Ayurvedic lifestyle, focusing on meditation and nutrition. In her spare time, Kim enjoys a variety of fitness classes, hiking and spending time with family and friends.Description of Yoga ClassesVINYASA YOGA - MONDAY EVENING CLASS *  A moving flow with some vigor, this class begins with a centering and is a continual movement and a linking together of poses and breath, building heat in the body.  This class consists of more standing poses than seated. VINYASA YOGA - TUESDAY MORNING CLASS*  Moves through active, breath guided, flowing postures, allowing students to fully embody alignment and movement both energetically and physically. This class will combine the wonderful world of science with the creative world of art! We will do a variety of experiments and turn them into works of art! Projects include erupting volcanoes with baking soda and vinegar, magnetic slime, milk art and more! Children with enjoy exploring various reactions, textures, and color mixing while socializing and learning with friends old and new!We will meet in the art room at MES!

This high-energy interval workout challenges the beginner and elite athlete alike. Build stamina, improve coordination and flexibility, and burn calories as you would build lean muscle with this fun and challenging workout in a no judgement zone. The last 20 minutes of class will focus on full body conditioning and core work. Beginners to Advanced levels are welcome as the instructor will offer modifications to ALL participants. Ages 14 - the active older adult. Please bring a mat and water bottle.

Meet our NEW Instructor!Kim Johnson is originally from Durban, South Africa.  She took her first yoga class in February 2016 at The OM Center, not knowing what to expect or what yoga really was, she remembers feeling anxious and nervous.  The teachers at OM were warm, kind and reassuring, making her feel welcome and at ease.  Going back every week, it didn't take long until she connected to her breath and made that body, mind, spirit connection.  Stepping out of her comfort zone has softened her anxieties and helped her feel centered and grounded, bringing peace and happiness within. In June 2017 Kim graduated from the 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training under the tutelage of Jessica Proulx at The OM Center. Filled with gratitude for her supportive community, Kim teaches from an open heart and the confidence yoga has gifted her.Kim follows an Ayurvedic lifestyle, focusing on meditation and nutrition. In her spare time, Kim enjoys a variety of fitness classes, hiking and spending time with family and friends.Description of Yoga ClassesVINYASA YOGA - MONDAY EVENING CLASS *  A moving flow with some vigor, this class begins with a centering and is a continual movement and a linking together of poses and breath, building heat in the body.  This class consists of more standing poses than seated. VINYASA YOGA - TUESDAY MORNING CLASS*  Moves through active, breath guided, flowing postures, allowing students to fully embody alignment and movement both energetically and physically. Classical method of violin playing is taught, though these techniques can be applied to all styles of violin playing including jazz, country and Irish fiddle. Lisa Laquidara is a professional violinist and teacher. She received her Bachelor of Music in violin performance from the Hartt School of Music and performs in several orchestras throughout Connecticut. She has taught at the Naugatuck Valley Community College, Westover School and St. Bridget School, and is currently the violin and viola teacher at the Taft School in Watertown.

This high-energy interval workout challenges the beginner and elite athlete alike. Build stamina, improve coordination and flexibility, and burn calories as you would build lean muscle with this fun and challenging workout in a no judgement zone. The last 20 minutes of class will focus on full body conditioning and core work. Beginners to Advanced levels are welcome as the instructor will offer modifications to ALL participants. Ages 14 - the active older adult. Please bring a mat and water bottle.

Yogis in grades K-5 will build flexibility, strength, and concentration while exploring different yoga poses and breathing techniques. Classes will be filled with lots of fun, games, teamwork and creativity! Please bring a water bottle and a snack!!  Yoga mats provided.

Meet our NEW Instructor!Kim Johnson is originally from Durban, South Africa.  She took her first yoga class in February 2016 at The OM Center, not knowing what to expect or what yoga really was, she remembers feeling anxious and nervous.  The teachers at OM were warm, kind and reassuring, making her feel welcome and at ease.  Going back every week, it didn't take long until she connected to her breath and made that body, mind, spirit connection.  Stepping out of her comfort zone has softened her anxieties and helped her feel centered and grounded, bringing peace and happiness within. In June 2017 Kim graduated from the 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training under the tutelage of Jessica Proulx at The OM Center. Filled with gratitude for her supportive community, Kim teaches from an open heart and the confidence yoga has gifted her.Kim follows an Ayurvedic lifestyle, focusing on meditation and nutrition. In her spare time, Kim enjoys a variety of fitness classes, hiking and spending time with family and friends.Description of Yoga ClassesVINYASA YOGA - MONDAY EVENING CLASS *  A moving flow with some vigor, this class begins with a centering and is a continual movement and a linking together of poses and breath, building heat in the body.  This class consists of more standing poses than seated. VINYASA YOGA - TUESDAY MORNING CLASS*  Moves through active, breath guided, flowing postures, allowing students to fully embody alignment and movement both energetically and physically. 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM    PRIVATE VIOLIN and VIOLA LESSONS - PRIVATE VIOLIN and VIOLA LESSONS - Spring 2019
The student is responsible for renting or buying his or her own instrument. The instructor may require one or more music books be purchased prior to the start of lessons. Classical method of violin playing is taught, though these techniques can be applied to all styles of violin playing including jazz, country and Irish fiddle. Lisa Laquidara is a professional violinist and teacher. She received her Bachelor of Music in violin performance from the Hartt School of Music and performs in several orchestras throughout Connecticut. She has taught at the Naugatuck Valley Community College, Westover School and St. Bridget School, and is currently the violin and viola teacher at the Taft School in Watertown.
