Offered as a program through Woodbury Parks & Recreation, Nonnewaug Flag Football is open to boys and girls in grades K-8 in Woodbury and surrounding communities. Nonnewaug Flag Football's mission is to promote fitness, and sportsmanship, all through football activities and competitive games. Flag Football gives children the option to play football with the same fitness and competitive benefits of tackle football, but in a non-contact environment. Children learn a variety of positions and skill sets that can be carried on to other sports.

Evaluations for 3rd - 8th grade players:

Grades 3-5 5:30 - 6:15
Grades 6-8 6:30 - 7:15
Location: Hollow Park
Bring: Cleats helpful but not mandatory
Note regarding evaluations: Evaluations are only necessary for 3rd to 8th grade players. Players who would like to be evaluated from 2nd grade can come at 5:30pm. If you have a 2nd grader that really needs to "play up" with the next division, they will have to attend evaluations. Please contact us so we are aware that your 2nd grader will be attending evaluations.
The week after evaluations we will hold our draft to chose teams. The coaches meeting and draft is on 8/31. This leads us to practices starting 9/1. Expect to hear from your coaches on 9/1.

Coaches Meeting: August 31
Nonnewaug Flag Football's mission is to promote fitness and teamwork for boys and girls in grades K-8 through fun and friendly football activities and games. Teams will practice 1-2 evenings per week based on field availability. Games will be played Sundays against other Nonnewaug Flag Football teams under a modified version of Flag Football's rules and guidelines. Team roster sizes will be kept small to give all kids maximum playing time.
No refunds are given once a program has begun. If a program is canceled by us for lack of registration or any other reason, a full refund will be given.
